From the surroundings of Castañar and its famous cave to the valley of the fossils
We make an early start by heading for Castañar de Ibor to reach the Interpretation Centre of the Castañar Cave. Visit to the giant chestnut trees of Calabazas. Lunch and departure for the Guadarranque. Ascent of the Risco Carbonero, panoramic views, and the Ordovician beach. We descend the valley of Hospital del Obispo on the Guadalupe Highroad in the opposite direction as far as Navatrasierra. Visit to the fossil centre and return.
