The project is coordinated by a working group comprising representatives of the Unit for Educational Programs (Regional Ministery of Education), the Teachers Support Centers of Trujillo and Navalmoral, the director of Primary School of Cañamero and the Geopark staff. He is assisted by the Geopark Scientific and Educative Committee .
The director of Cañamero Primary School has assumed functions of coordinating the participation of all centers in the activities. It is organized under the methodology of the Ministry of Education, as a seminar, also called Geocentros, from which various activities are scheduled. The methodology foster the exchanges of practice and reflection among the participants. It is complemented by a google+ community of in order to share information, questions, activities, documentary material, files and resources.
The geopark objectives are in the core of the educational project. Geoparks promote the conservation of geological heritage along with the historical, natural and cultural hertages of the same territory. However, Geoparks exist because they are necessary and relevant to its community, which promotes educational strategies or sustainable social and economic development using this heritage. This consideration has deserved all the attention of UNESCO. Needless to point out that the E of UNESCO means Education and what it means for the growth of human communities. Consequently who, since its inception, has highlighted its educative project as one of its pillars.0
