In order to bring the management of the Geopark closer to their territory and their representative bodies, a Territorial Commission was created in the following terms:
The Territorial Commission is composed by entities located in the territory of the Geopark (Municipalities, Geovilluercas and Aprodervi), a representative of the Council of the province of Caceres and a representative of the Regional Government of Extremadura.
Its main functions are the proposal of activities in line with the objectives of rural development and geotourism of those entities and the periodic monitoring of the implementation of the Action Plan.
The territorial activities join the educational programme, the scientific activities and the external relationships to shape the draft Action Plan that must be approved by the Geopark Council.
The Commission has functions of monitoring the implementation of planned activities, orienting them and solving any doubt about their interpretation. The Territorial Commission can write reports for reprogramming if it would be necessary. The members can propose technical specifications to the planned activities to be used on the contract procedures with third-parties.
